The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the U.S. federal agency tasked with building the national capacity to defend against cyber attacks. While it works primarily to provide cybersecurity tools, incident response services, and assessment capabilities to safeguard federal ‘.gov’ networks, it also works more broadly to help secure critical IT systems in the public and private sectors.

To that end, CISA recently released new guidance and a tip sheet targeted specifically for school audiences on the subject of online videoconferencing. Given the pivot to remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with it the dramatic uptake in online videoconferencing use (primarily, Zoom) and resultant school security incidents, this guidance should be widely distributed and well-received:
